Frank Edward Murphy Jr., 76, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away, December 1, 2025, peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by family and love. He leaves behind a legacy of service, devotion, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Penelope Murphy; his daughters, Kimberly Murphy and her boyfriend Tai Ngin of Middleburg, FL, and Michelle Fidler and her husband Ryan of Hanover, PA; and his cherished grandchildren, Trent Hanson and his wife Lillian of Olympia, WA, Evelyn Hanson and her boyfriend Trevor Hoffmann of Vero Beach, FL, Ashlee Kontz and her boyfriend Zack McNeil of Hanover, PA and a bonus grandson Colin Ngin of Jacksonville, FL. He was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Bradlee and Bentlee Kontz, and a bonus great-grandson Carter McNeil.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Frank dedicated his life to service. He retired from the Baltimore County Police Department, where he spent many years protecting and supporting his community. After relocating to Florida, he continued serving others through his work as a Court Security Officer at the Jacksonville Federal Courthouse, from which he recently retired. Frank was also honored to serve as Past Commander of American Legion Post 200, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to fellow veterans. Frank was a member of Grace Anglican church where he proudly served on the security team.

Outside of his professional and military achievements, Frank embraced life fully. He enjoyed golf, traveling with friends, and—most of all—spending time with his family, who meant everything to him.

Frank will be remembered for his strength, humor, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Throughout his cancer journey, Frank continued to put his family’s needs before his own. His impact will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

May he rest in peace.
