Frank Robert Bender of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away on March 24, 2026, at the age of 60.
Frank was born on November 21, 1965, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to Linda Stein Coffman and Frank “Fritz” Rose. He was later lovingly adopted by Fred Philip Bender. He attended Dunedin High School and graduated from Minersville High School in 1983.
Following graduation, Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, assigned the 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Tank Battalion. He enlisted in 1983 and received an honorable discharge in 1989. After his military service, he built a lifelong career in the automotive industry, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Murray Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
Frank had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and riding his Harley. Above all, he cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, his fiancée, and his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of life, and his devotion to those closest to him.
Frank was preceded in death by his biological father, Frank Rose, and his father, Fred Bender.
He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Amanda Bender Gillespie (Sean) of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Emily Christian Squires (Aaron) of Wilmore, Kentucky; son, Fred Bender of Tampa, Florida; mother, Linda Stein Coffman, and stepfather, Bill Coffman; stepmother, Kathy Bender; his sisters, Debbie Kennedy and Amy Benton, stepbrothers Billy Coffman, Danny Coffman and Lance Coffman; six adoring grandchildren, Miles, Maisie, Bailey, Adalynn, Bradley and BriLeigh; and his most special and beloved fiancée, Shelley Finn and her son Robert Finn. Plus a multitude of friends including best friends Jennifer Bender and Gray Joyce.
A graveside service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Jim Joiner officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Rudder Club of Jacksonville from 3:00 - 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to a charity of your choice or to an organization supporting veterans.
Frank’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
