Frances Jean Lane passed away on Sunday, December 7th, 2025.

As with everything in her life Jean faced death with grace and courage.

Jean's life was always about others; she was a selfless person who was always kind and giving.

She loved reading and was a talented artist. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and friend.

Jean was many things to many people and was always a steady anchor of faith for all she came into contact with. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church, although she was not able to attend for years now, she leaves behind many friends and fond memories of the church.

She never lost her faith in God and has now gone home to be with the Lord.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Grant Lane and her parents, George and Oakie Shy. She leaves behind sons, Randall Shy and Brian Leonard, and Jerry Lane; granddaughters, Alex and Chloe Leonard and Angeline Lane; and her brother, Robert Shy.

John 14:27 - 

Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
