Fermin F. Orara, 76, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away October 22, 2017. He was born on July 7, 1941 in San Narciso, Philippines to parents Gregoria Orara and Modesta Farin Orara. Mr. Orara served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years of service as well as serving during the Vietnam War. After his military career he worked in Civil Service at NAS Jax starting in 1989 and retiring in 2003. Mr. Orara loved fishing, cooking, gardening and especially spending time with his loving grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Giovanna Orara; children, Stefannie Godfrey (Tim) and Deborah Orara Leone (Michael); siblings, Remi Fernandez, Thelma Donata, Cleofe Orara, Arturo Orara, Brenda Lewis, Lerma Zotto and Gregorio Orara; grandchildren, Britney, Garret, Lia, Isabella, Enzo and Sofia and great-grandchildren, Ryder and Gunner.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time in the chapel.Inurnment services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
