Evelyn Norris

February 11, 1952 — March 26, 2022

Our beloved Nettie “Evelyn” Norris, 70, a resident of Fleming Island, passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2022 to be with Jesus. Evelyn was born in St Augustine, FL on February 11, 1952 to William C Norris and Duffell Norris Jones. She was a proud salon owner and hairdresser for 40 plus years. She was also a member of True Life Church and loved her church family.

Evelyn loved making her gorgeous holiday wreaths and working in her beautiful garden, as she had a love for flowers. She was a fabulous cook, especially known for her cakes and desserts as she was a proud grandmother to her grandson, Mateo, who referred to her as Nans and loved her cookies. Evelyn also played piano by ear a talent very little knew.

Evelyn was loving, gentle, kind, and loyal yet fierce when she needed to be. She is preceded in death by her father, William C Norris, mother, Duffell Norris Jones, father, Curtis J Jones, siblings -Loretta Jones, Gene Jones (MaryLou), Keith Jones, Carol Jones.

She is survived by her only daughter, Lisa Villa, son-in-law Sam, grandson Mateo, siblings, Darrell Bishop (Rose), Cindy Ecker (Randy), and Denise Okie (Alan).

Evelyn also loved as her own William “Lenny” Sabourine and many nieces and nephews Emma, Rebecca, Kassidy, Kelsey, Destony, Eric.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at True Life Church with Pastor Bill Register and Pastor Billy Register officiating, and the burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
