Elizabeth R. Keller (Zerbe) of Middleburg Florida passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 16, 2025 at the age of 90. Elizabeth was born on January 12, 1935 to Ellis B. Zerbe and Ellen M. Zerbe (Declercq) in Mishawaka Indiana where she attended St. Monica's Grade School, St. Joseph's Academy and was a 1953 graduate of Mishawaka High School. On December 21, 1953 she married John A. Keller and embarked on the life of a very proud Navy wife until John's military retirement in Jacksonville Florida. John preceeded her in death on July 4, 2011. They had four children. After retirement, Elizabeth and John moved back to Indiana to care for her mother until her death. During that time Elizabeth and her childhood best friend Beth opened Liz/Beth Creations in River Park/South Bend, then moved the business to downtown Mishawaka for several years. She enjoyed her talent as a floral designer for weddings and occasions. After the death of her mother, Elizabeth and John moved back to Florida and made their home in Middleburg. Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She loved her faith, church and church family. Elizabeth had a love of turtles having rescued several who came to be pets for many years. She had a love of animals and came to be called Mother Nature because of her efforts to rescue injured or neglected animals. Some became beloved family pets as well. She was an avid Notre Dame fan. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and family matriarch. Her family meant everything to her and she loved us all through thick and thin. She will be dearly missed. Surviving are her four children, Joanna Keller fka John Jr., Tim Keller (Sherry) , Kimberly Barnbrook (Jim ) and Christopher Keller (Debbie). Six grand children, Kyle Keller, Tim Keller II, Brandon Keller, Ryan Barnbrook, Reid Barnbrook and Shane Keller. Five great grandchildren, Evan Keller, Emory Keller, Rowan Keller, Avery Keller and Lorana Keller. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 10:00am - 10:30am at St. Luke Catholic Church followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Live stream will be available through the church website: stlukesparish.org Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11:00 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church, Parish Outreach or the Parish Enrichment Fund.
