Earl Wayne Duncan, of Saint Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Earl was born on June 26, 1946, in Kanima, Oklahoma, to Clifton Duncan and Effie Brock. He attended Arvin High School in California and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Throughout his working life, Earl dedicated many years to Lubbock Manufacturing Company and later served his community as a Deputy Sheriff for Haskell County, Oklahoma.

In 1967, Earl met the love of his life, Shirley Jo Franklin. After just two short months of dating, they were united in marriage on September 22, 1967. Earl and Shirley shared a beautiful life together—one filled with deep love, laughter, faith, and devotion to family. Over the years, they made their home in California, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, and Maryland, creating lifelong memories in each place they lived.

Earl was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Berlin, Maryland, where he served as both a deacon and greeter, warmly welcoming all who entered. Known for his big personality and generous heart, Earl loved telling jokes and brought smiles to many through his daily jokes on Facebook. He also enjoyed playing his daily card games online, watching westerns, and singing with enthusiasm.

Earl loved big and was loved by so many. Above all else, he cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His joyful spirit and boundless love will be deeply missed.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Duncan and Effie Christy; a beloved granddaughter, Kylee Ann; his sister, Patricia Duncan; his son-in-law, Joe Wise; and many other cherished family members.

He is survived by his devoted wife of the home, Shirley Duncan; his sister, Fern Witt and husband Frank of Bakersfield, California; sons Mike Duncan and wife Leslie of Keota, Oklahoma, and Wayne Duncan of Houston, Texas; daughters Rachel Johnson and husband Dearl of Keota, Oklahoma, and Audra Ely and husband Brandon of Saint Augustine, Florida.

Earl also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren:

 Kathryn Paige McCurdy and husband Corey of Owasso, Oklahoma;

Larisia Bennett and husband Ben of Gans, Oklahoma;

Robert Bond of Keota, Oklahoma;

Kolten Spradley of Tahlequah, Oklahoma;

Cole Wise and Cloe Wise of Keota, Oklahoma;

Duncan Ely and fiancée Elle Jones of Berlin, Maryland;

and Anthony of Houston, Texas.

He was also the proud great-grandfather of Logan and Preston Bennett of Gans, Oklahoma.

Earl shared a special bond with his beloved grand-dog, Mikey Ely, who loved riding in the golf cart or car with Grandpa.

He is further survived by many other family members and dear friends across the country who will forever keep his memory alive.

A memorial service will be held in Stigler, Oklahoma, May 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church.
