Dorothy Jean Buckhalter, 91, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away on May 11, 2026.

Dorothy, lovingly known to most as “Dot,” was born on January 12, 1935, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Cliff Faircloth and Lucile Lamb. She later made her home in Green Cove Springs, where she built a life centered around faith, family, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Crystal; her son, Brad; her daughter, Linda Gail; her granddaughter, Kristi; her brothers, Charles “Buddy” and Ellis “Jabo”; and her sisters, Linda (Truett) and Aileen.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Ann (Ronnie), daughters, Christine (Charlie), Pam (Greg) and son Robert (Claudette); her grandchildren, Shaun, Barbara Jean, Randall (Thad), Patty, and Ricky; as well as several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Dorothy devoted much of her life to caring for others and especially cherished time spent with her family. She was well known for her cooking and was considered by many to be one of the best cooks in Green Cove Springs. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love, and no one ever left hungry.

She enjoyed watching soap operas and classic Western movies, and later in life she traveled across the United States for several years alongside her husband, Crystal, in his semi-truck. Her children and grandchildren always looked forward to the moment they would see the truck roll back into the driveway.

Dorothy will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the deep devotion she had for her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00am with Pastor David Batton officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
