Donna Elaine Kriebel Fruh

July 18, 1945 – October 9, 2025

It is with great love and admiration that we announce the passing of Donna Elaine Kriebel Fruh, who passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Penney Farms, Florida, at the age of 80.

Born on July 18, 1945, in Independence, Missouri, Donna lived a full and spirited life defined by courage, independence, and a unique sense of humor. A proud U.S. Army veteran, she served her country with honor and carried that same strength and determination throughout her life.

Donna was known by all who met her as spunky, strong-willed, and fiercely independent. A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California, she worked as a Customs Auditor for the U.S. government for more than 40 years—a career that allowed her to travel the world. She approached life with grit and curiosity, always ready to explore the desert or embark on a world cruise.

She was deeply devoted to her only and favorite son and found immense joy in being a grandmother.

Donna is survived by her son, Shawn Fruh, daughter-in-law Alison Fruh, and her beloved grandchildren Alexander and Amelia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Mary Ann (Ott) Kriebel, and her brother Gary. She will also be lovingly remembered for her companionship with her cherished dog, Maggie, who she spoke of often and fondly.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and a Celebration of Donna’s life will begin at 11:00am. A graveside military service will follow at 2:30pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a woman who lived life entirely on her own terms.

Donna’s courage, humor, and independent spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy of strength and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
