Donn E. Bauer, born June 17, 1944, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Donn was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Donald Welch and Jayne Davis Bauer and was later adopted by Charles Bauer.
After graduating from Frankford High School in 1962, Donn proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, he entered the roofing business as a general contractor, working alongside his father-in-law, the late Jerry Green, and his brother-in-law, John Kilbride.
Donn was married to Beverly Green from 1969 to 1996 and later to Edith Betz from 1999 to 2010.
Donn moved to Fleming Island in 2010 to be closer to his grandchildren and family. Donn enjoyed western movies and staying informed on current news and events. He was a member of Harbor Baptist Church and lived with strong faith, fully trusting in his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Bauer.
Donn is survived by his children, Steve Bauer, Amy Medwid, and Scott Bauer; his daughter-in-law, Amy Bauer, son-in-law, John Medwid, and daughter-in-law, Gina Bauer; his grandchildren, Stuart, Maddie, Kaylie, Johnny, and Mason; his niece, Jenn Spector, nephews, John and Mike Kilbride, niece, Eve Bauer, and nephew, Cole Bauer; and his cousins, Leslie Davis Guccione, Larry Davis, Amy Davis, and Zachary Davis.
Donn will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery on January 2nd.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his faith, and his honorable service to his country.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at 11:00AM in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Family will receive guests starting one hour prior at 10:00AM. Following services, burial will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:00PM.
