Dean Alan Janda of Starke, FL (formerly from Green Cove Springs, FL), went to be with the Lord on June 26th, 2022. Dean was born on August 15th, 1964 to Eugene and Maxine Janda at the Clay Memorial Hospital in Green Cove Springs, FL. Shortly after he graduated from Clay High School, he joined the Air Force and Army Reserves for a total of 6 years. He was recognized as a leader and mentor to his fellow soldiers. He carried that mentor mentality into his years of coaching. Dean coached for Clay Pal Athletic League for 16 years. He loved his players like his own and not only taught them football plays but also taught them life lessons. When he wasn’t on the field coaching, he was at home watching the latest football game. There was an ongoing family rivalry between the FSU Seminoles and Florida Gators. Throughout many careers, Dean always sustained a strong work ethic and was determined to give his 100% to any project. He landed his dream job at Cox Communications as a Critical Facilities Engineer. A couple years later, he completed his dream home for the love of his life and kids in Starke, FL. He enjoyed working in the yard with his “beautiful wife” (as he would say) and taking care of what was supposed to be his daughter’s chickens. Dean was a family man, a selfless man, a compassionate person, and a supporter. He would do anything for his family. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Dawn Marie Janda, and their children Noah, Savannah, and Adrianna; his children Alan, Ryan, Kyle (Grace); 5 grandchildren; brother Troy (Julia); sister Gina (Larry); and many nieces/nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for the love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. As Dean would say: “Go make it happen!” In lieu of flowers, you may donate to a go fund me account that was set up by his son's girlfriend to help the family during these difficult times (here). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Tim Hall officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am until service time.
