David Alan McCreary, 61, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away May 1, 2017.  He was born on August 12, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Homer and Eleanor (Siperek) McCreary.  David moved to the area in 1999 from Baltimore, MD and was of the Christian faith.  He was an avid football player, playing for Morgan State College and semi-pro in Baltimore.  David was feisty and fun. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing but most of all he loved time with his grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Butch McCreary. David is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Anita McCreary; son, Jeffrey Raub (Melissa); daughter, Breya Bartley (Richard); brother, Raymond McCreary (Judy); 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Friday, May 5, 2017.  Funeral services will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00pm.
