Cmdr. Maurice (Moe) Valdivieso Vazquez, Ret, age 74, Orange Park, Fl, passed on April 19, 2026

Moe was born on March 22, 1952 in Havana, Cuba. The family moved to the United States in 1959. Moe received his naturalization in 1974. He was a graduate of Boston College receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 1974. Moe joined the Navy in 1975 as a Naval Aviation Officer. He was assigned to several Naval carriers flying A-7’s and F-18’s until he retired in 1995.

Moe enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a love of airplanes, guns, his drums, cats, and The Beatles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Dr. Heriberto Vazquez, Conchita Valdivieso Vazquez, and Maria (Tia) Soledad Valdivieso.

He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Alexis Vazquez and God-daughter, Kelly Cavagraro.

Ceremony will be held at The Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, Fl 32218 at 1:00pm, Friday July 31, 2026.

Celebration of Life will be held August 1, 2026 at The River House, 2137 Astor Street, Orange Park, Fl 32073 from 4:00-7:00pm.
