Clara Bell Taylor (Boykin), born February 23, 1930 to parents Mary Alice and John B. Boykin of Tifton, GA., went to be with her Lord on December 3, 2023. She was the oldest girl of 9 children: 3 girls and 6 boys.

At the young age of 18, Clara met V.O. Taylor, fell in love and then married him when she was 19 years old. They started a family right away close to Tifton, GA. Their business took them to Michigan, then to Florida - where they had 8 children (5 girls and 3 boys).

Clara is survived by her two younger sisters Vera Gibbs of Tifton, GA., Mary Rowan of Winter Haven, FL., and all 8 of her children: Jerry Taylor, Janice Johnsen (Roy), Kenny Taylor (Robin), Barbara Earls (John), Cindy Sweat (Tom), Darlene Ard (Steve), Keith Taylor, & Lynn Wolf (Emmett). She was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Clara loved Jesus and she loved her family. She never met a stranger and always had food to offer to anyone hungry. She had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her flowers and gardening.

She was a true friend to many and was loved by all, especially her family. She will be dearly missed.

Services for Clara will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Public visitation will take place 2:00pm - 3:00pm, followed immediately by a funeral service. A graveside service will follow at First Black Creek Baptist Cemetery in Penney Farms.
