On April 30th, 2026, Charles Jackie McGuckin of Middleburg, Florida was called home by our Lord and Saviour. The world lost a great man that day, but heaven needed him more. A devoted husband, loving father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Papa, Pa, and above all else a faithful servant of God.

Born in Mazieres, France on August 10th, 1945, the son of Evelyn and Thomas McGuckin. Charles moved to Middleburg in the 1950’s where he built and lived an amazing life always putting God and family first. Charles was most proud of his family that surrounded him his entire life.

With a love of education Charles earned an Associate of Arts in General Education from community college, a Bachelor of Arts in History from Jacksonville University, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Florida, and Post Graduate work in Constitutional Law and in Comparative World Religions, both from the University of Florida. He also had vocational training in Emergency Medical Technology as a State Certified EMT and Paramedic. Although he retired from all vocations, nonetheless he opened a new chapter in his life by publishing novels in the "Eveline" series and biblical exegeses in the "Getting To Know" series.

Charles touched countless lives through his years of riding in Rescue units as the attending Paramedic, serving as Director of EMS and Fire and 911 services, and many years of service in the public school system. From assisting with the birth of two patients in an ambulance to guiding countless young lives through troubling times in the public school system, Charles had an unending ability and desire to help people.

In his nearly 40 years of ministry, Charles had the utmost privilege to have led countless souls to Jesus Christ. He served as Senior Pastor for two churches during his many years of Ministry. From pastoring, to teaching bible study, to counseling young Christians through troubling times he led a God first life and led by example.

Charles leaves behind an everlasting legacy through the loving family he built. A loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Annette McGuckin. Three children; Carolyn Shawn McGuckin-Pignone, Charles Shane McGuckin, and Thomas Shannon McGuckin. Two daughters in laws; Dawn and Holli. One son in law; David. Ten Grand Kids; Jamey, Shyenne, Corey, Alyssia, Connor, Weston, Jaxon, Masen, Meagan, and Michael. Four Step Grand Kids; Madyson, Dylon, Bryson, and Austyn. Nine Great Grand Kids; Jensen, Jordan, Jameson, Whitley, Wrenlee, Carsen, Anslee, Nathan, and Noah.

A life spent in service to God and family with a heavenly reward, Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant.
