Brenda Faye Moody, 73, of Starke, FL passed away July 4, 2021. She was born December 1, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to the late J.D. and Willie Frank Bowen. Brenda married Gerald Moody July 10, 1970. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Starke, FL.

Brenda enjoyed shopping, Zumba, cooking family meals, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her larger than life personality, lighting up any room she entered, and never meeting a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey Earl Moody; parents, Julius Dewitt Bowen and Willie Frank Bowen; brother, Henry Dewitt Bowen.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Moody; sons, James Messer (Sandy) and Gerald M. Moody (Stephanie); daughter, Jennifer R. Wilbur (Buddy); grandchildren, James E. Messer, Jr. (Kalie), Geoffrey A. Messer, Victoria Wilbur, Blake Wilbur and Kenlie Wilbur; brother, Michael Bowen; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Black Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ron Kimbrell officiating.
