Billy Ray Shrum, age 72, of Middleburg, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2026. He was born on August 21, 1953, in Whitwell, Tennessee.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A man of God and a veteran of the Marine Corps, he loved his family and friends. He was a member of the Drs. Inlet Church of God for over 40 years, and world missions became a passion of his after a life-changing trip to Guatemala. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, raising a garden, watching his chickens, and talking on his CB and ham radios; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Shrum; mother, Martha Shrum; brother, Joe David Shrum (Jody); granddaughter, Hazel Ann Mosier; and great-granddaughter Hannah Keah-Tigh.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanna Shrum; children, Marcy (Jeffery) Griffin, Andrew Shrum, and Rachel (Trevor) Mosier; grandchildren, Shannon, Darrell, and Seth; great-grandson, Waylon; siblings, James (Reva) Shrum, Rose (Steve) Ellis, Eugene (Pennie) Shrum, Ann (Melvin) Brewer, Leona (Craig) Dyer, and John (Tammy) Shrum; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday June 24 at 11 AM at Doctor’s Inlet Church of God, with Rev. Mitchell Snowden officiating. Friends are welcome to arrive beginning at 10 AM for the viewing. A graveside service with military honors to follow at Peoria Cemetery.
