Beverly J. Mears, 75, of Orange Park, FL, passed away January 23, 2018.  She was born on February 17, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late John Thomas and Alice Pauline (Carr) Baker. Beverly came to Florida in 1979 from Oklahoma and was of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed crafting, flower arranging, painting, dancing, baking, cooking and making people laugh.  Beverly was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas Baker, II.

Beverly is survived by her son, Jerry Hare and Gary Hare (Barbara); daughter, Annette Thomas (Patrick); sister, Patricia Council; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; best friend, Diana Hillyard; along with the Thomas family and the Mears Boys.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Chaplain John Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Orange Park, FL.
