Barrett Bryan Johnson, 46, beloved husband, father, son and friend, passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters on April 7, 2026.

Barrett was born on January 5, 1980, in Gainesville, Florida. After a few years, Barrett’s family relocated to Tallahassee, Florida. (Beginning a love for FSU at an early age). By the age of eight, they moved to Lake Asbury, living on Black Creek for years. Barrett was thoroughly a “Florida Boy” his whole life, spending time fishing, boating, and enjoying the water. Once he met and married his love, Emily, in 2006; they moved to Orange Park where they lived together till his passing. Together he and Emily built a home full of love and fun causing 19 years to pass ever so quickly while raising their three beautiful daughters. To Emily, Barrett was not just a husband, but a trusted best friend, and the steady, consistent presence in their home that she and the girls so depended on.

Barrett took pride in his work no matter the job. He spent many years at Magnolia Point working as their Tennis Pro and then spent the next decade as a Chemical Operator at Symrise. When he was not working, he treasured his time with his family. Whether at home watching his beloved FSU Seminoles or Jacksonville Jaguars play football or relaxing by the grill with his family and pets; Barrett was a simple man who seemed happiest surrounded by the ones he loves.

Barrett is survived by his wife of 19 years, Emily, and their three daughters Ava, Sophia, and Juliet. His parents, Bryan and Debra Johnson of Lake Asbury, his brother, Jordan Johnson and his wife, Erin Johnson of St Augustine. Also survived by his grandmother, Judy Hall of Lake City, and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Those who knew him will remember his sweet smile, his sense of humor, and his love of adventure. Though his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fill, we are gently reminded of our heavenly Father who is holding us steady through this difficult time.

A memorial service is being held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Orange Park. There will be a visitation time for family and friends starting at 10:00am followed by the service at 11:00am. We are looking forward to spending time together, sharing memories of Barrett and honoring the beautiful life that he led.
