Barbara Poteete, 79, of Middleburg, FL, passed away August 30, 2017.  She was born on September 21, 1937 in Mooresville, NC to the late William E. and Lillian Mae (Byrd) Phillips. Barbara came to the area in 1973 from North Carolina and was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church.  She enjoyed bingo, working in her yard and watching murder mysteries.  Barbara was a family woman who had previously worked as a nurse’s aide and as a bookkeeper.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Franklin Poteete; daughter, Denise Poteete and sister, Betty Christy. Barbara is survived by her sons, Phillip Poteete and Brad Poteete (Jo Ann); daughter, Cheryl Miller (Mike); grandchildren, Michael Miller (Michelle), Christy Scotta (David), Emily Miller, Becky Poteete and great-grandchild, Avery Scotta.
