Barbara Jacobson Dorsey, 77, of St Johns, FL, passed away on January 30, 2026. A native of Stoneham, MA, Barbara was born on August 9, 1948, to Oscar and Anna (Truedson) Jacobson, one of three children.

Barbara earned a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Stephens College and a Master’s degree in the Arts from the University of Connecticut. Following graduate school, Barbara began a career in banking where she met the love of her life, Brian, while working at Community First Trust Bank. Barbara and Brian were married for 40 wonderful years before his passing in 2020.

Barbara was an amazing woman with a kind and loving heart. She found joy in the simple things – sewing, playing cards, and spending time with the people she loved most. Some of her happiest moments were shared with her grandchildren, especially during sleepovers filled with stories, laughter, and comfort that only a grandmother could give. She cherished talking with her children and maintained close, loving relationships with them throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love for her family.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Brian and her brother, Donald Jacobson. She is survived by her three children: Paul Emanuel Dorsey, Esq., Dallas, TX; Adam Brian Dorsey, Los Angeles, CA and Anne-Marie Grayshan (husband Benjamin), St. Augustine, FL; brother Roy Jacobson, Pleasonton, CA; and grandchildren Emily and Ethan Grayshan, St. Augustine, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Broadus Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. A reception will be held at Anne-Marie’s home following the service.
