Annick "Nicky"
Lemon
July 5, 1932 — August 4, 2026
Penney Farms
Annick “Nicky” Madeleine (Allard) Lemon passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026 in the Pavilion of Penney Farms Retirement Community, in Penney Farms, FL, after an extended illness.
Born on July 5, 1932, to Alphonse Louis and Gilberte Marie Allard, Nicky’s early life was shaped by history. As a young girl growing up in France during WW II, she and her younger sister Nicole, were evacuated to live with extended family members in the countryside during the German invasion. This was an experience that helped shape her resilience, endurance and strength, as well as her love and deep commitment to family. After the war, while working as a young woman on an American Army base near her home, she met her future husband Leon Leamond Lemon, Jr, who was stationed in France. The two were married in France on May 9, 1953, surrounded by Nicky’s family. After his military service concluded, Nicky courageously followed her husband to America, where the couple settled to begin their new life together.
Settling into her new country, Nicky embraced the challenges of a new world, including learning to speak conversational English and mastering how to drive a car, skills she did not need to learn back home. Leon and Nicky desired to build a foundation of faith together, so they sought out and joined a local church, and remained deeply active in their church home no matter where they lived, All the while she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home. As a young wife and mother, she raised her two children Lee Ann and Eric with unconditional love, patience and commitment.
Her faith and love extended into a lifetime of service. Within her church, Nicky found herself right at home within the hospitality ministry, working with a group of other volunteers to prepare and serve meals for church gatherings and functions. She also volunteered for Meals On Wheels and would often take her young children with her for deliveries. Beyond structured volunteer commitments, Nicky found a way to fulfill her desire to care for those around her. She was a friend and neighbor who would readily prepare a meal or visit with someone who was sick, recovering from surgery, or in need of company and friendship.
When Leon retired from his career at Home Depot, it opened up a new chapter for the couple, as it coincided with the birth of their first grandchild. Their new schedule granted them the freedom to travel out of state to visit grandchildren and family more often. As lifelong campers, they truly enjoyed the flexibility to plan many camping trips with close friends. Whether they were setting out on a camping trip or embarking on a cruise to Hawaii or Alaska, they were almost always traveling alongside a tight knit circle of friends – the very same friends they had made and cherished through their church community over the years. They were also able to enjoy precious trips back to France to visit Nicky’s family and childhood home. Through every chapter of her life journey, Nicky lived with quiet strength and a warm and generous spirit., leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience and deep devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Leon Leamond Lemon, Jr and her parents, Alphonse Loius Allard and Gilberte Marie Allard.
Her memory and loving spirit live on through her daughter Lee Ann Cleveland and her husband (Lee); her son Glenn Eric Lemon and his wife (Donna); her sister, (Nicole Allard) of France; her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved niece, nephew and their families in France.
