Ann Shirley
Schultz
July 18, 1937 – May 29, 2026
The much-beloved Ann Shirley Schultz of Green Cove Springs, FL quietly passed away May 29, 2026 at her eldest son’s home. She was 88 years old, born July 18, 1937 to Joseph Daniel Schultz and Gladys Clarise Schultz (née Barfield).
She worked doing what she enjoyed - fixing and repairing mechanical equipment at Maxwell House and Benners Glass Company. Even in her retirement she would work on neighbors’ lawn mowers, generators and vehicles, she was always repairing friends’ motors.
She will be most remembered for the lives she affected with her dedication to the Lord, spreading the Word of Jesus Christ. She was blessed to introduce many people to the teachings of Jesus, and she lived what she preached.
She is survived by her children D. Keith Watson, Daniel L. Watson, LeLonnie A. Ibarra (née Watson) and Gary D. Watson, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Journal Entries about My Mom: From D. Keith Watson
I’m at the hospital trying to remember how many times I have been here in the past few weeks saying a prayer, asking the Lord to please help her to get through these difficult times.
I want to tell you about my mother who loves the Lord and her family. She loves gospel music, and loves to sing, and plays a few different instruments, and loves banana pudding. I remember I would help her sell at the flea markets and play music with her.
This is the month of May and Mother’s Day will be here soon. Time is so fast I can’t keep up. Sometimes it seems like there is never enough time to do or say the things that matter the most in life. Mom, you taught us to always love and respect the Lord. Every time a nurse or doctor comes they ask her name and birthdate, July 18, 1937 she would say. Even though these are difficult times, we make the most of every day. We are only given one day at a time.
My two brothers and sister, we all get together for Mother’s Day, lifting her spirits for the difficult times she’s facing. She is home now with us.
No more treatments she can’t stand. The cancer went through her body so fast. I was with her playing music when she went to sleep.
Now she has gone to her forever home with God.
We are always with her and every day was a special gift.
A memorial service will be held in Ann's honor on Monday, June 8th at 11:00am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Guests are welcome to arrive starting at 10:30am. Rev. Ronnie Surrency will be officiating.
