Alfred (“Al”) Graci, 92½, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 20, 1933, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to Joseph and Grace Graci, Al never met a stranger. A natural salesman with a warm smile and kind heart, he made friends wherever he went and was known for his genuine love of people.
On November 19, Al and his beloved wife, Martha (“Kate”) Graci, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by Kate; his daughters, Katherine (Bret), Kristina (Jerad), and Karen (Brian); his grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, and Madison; Matthew’s fiancée, Allison; his sisters, Marie and Lillian (Howard); and his brother, Sam (Cara).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Grace Graci; his brother, Joseph Graci; and his sister, Phyllis Valente.
Al loved traveling with his family, cheering on Notre Dame football, golfing, and playing Euchre, often winning despite being dealt the worst cards. He also had a lifelong love of whipped cream and a lifelong dislike of mayonnaise, two traits that always brought a smile to those who knew him.
Al will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the friendships he made throughout his life. His family was his greatest pride, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on for generations.
A Memorial Mass in Al's honor will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 1:00PM at St. Joseph's Historical Church, immediately followed by a graveside at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place later in the day on August 29th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the RiverTown WaterSong Amenity Center.
