Alfred "Al" Dixon

Alfred “Al” Dixon of Jacksonville, Fl was 72 when he went to be with Jesus on May 16, 2025. He was born to Cecil L. Dixon and Ellen M. Dixon nee Duke on May 28, 1952 at the McAndrews AFB Hospital in Argentia, Newfoundland.

Al was the captain of his own boat his love for anything having to do with water showed from surfing in his earlier years to surf fishing with his best friends he loved watching NASCAR and football and loved going to the TPC. His kind nature and big heart was instilled by his mom, his suave, smooth demeanor and love for humor came from his father. Al graduated from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs FL, he then went on to St. Augustine Tech in St. Augustine FL where he graduated with an Associated Degree in CAD (computer aided drafting), Al then went on to Florida Community College in Jacksonville, FL where he graduated with Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Design Drafting Technology Al also received a diploma in Cartography (he always had the best handwriting).

Al married his wife Janet Dixon on a sunset cruise in Key West, FL on October 17, 2001 Al was married to his wife for 23 yrs during those years they experienced a lot of joy and good times going to concerts, the beach, a show and dinner at the Alhambra Theater, spending time with family and friends to just relaxing watching TV. Al will be truly missed by all and he was truly a good person.

Al was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Harold Dixon and Robert “Bobby” Dixon and a sister Diane Dixon-Waters.

Al left behind his wife of 23 years, son Chase L. Dixon and two grandchildren Gracie Danielle Dixon and Brody Cash Dixon, Two Sisters Debra Dixon-Krage and Mary Prond and Two brothers Cecil Dixon and Curtis Dixon and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

There will be small gathering for family at his momma’s house in Green Cove Springs there will also be a celebration of life at Monty’s/Shores of Avondale Bar 3644 Saint Johns Ave. Jacksonville, FL for family and friends Saturday June 7 starting at 3:00 pm, we hope you will come and celebrate Al’s life with us.
