Rafael "Rafa" Figueroa-Garmendia, 61, of Middleburg, FL passed away February 26, 2017. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 18, 1955. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Figueroa of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and Francisca Garmendia of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rafa was an exceedingly intelligent man which was the driving force of his life. His achievements were many, from being a Chief in the Navy to being an Electrical Engineer for Insteel Industries. He was highly regarded by all in his endeavors. He had a love of sailing, reading, and his BMW motorcycle. Rafa would say his greatest achievement was being married to his beloved wife of 27 years, Patricia Figueroa-Garmendia, whom he is survived by. He is also survived by step-daughter, Jennifer Lynn Jones and feline daughters Piper, Lucy, Raven, and Stella.
