Jo Nell Hiers, 96, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away October 19, 2016.  She was born on March 4, 1920 in Hemingway, SC to the late James and Mae Bell (Jordan) Ray.  Mrs. Hiers was a homemaker and had been a resident of Clay County for 50 years.  She most enjoyed taking care of her family who will miss her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Henry Judson Hiers.  Survivors include her sons, Michael Hiers (Leslie) and Dane Hiers, all of Fleming Island, FL; brother, Alden Ray of California; sisters, Vernie Mae Cribb of Hemingway, SC and Margie Hernandez of Glastonbury, CT; grandchildren, Emily Pudoff (Tony) and Michael Hiers and great-granddaughter, Abigail Pudoff.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073 with Rev.
