Shurley B. Fay McKenzie, 83, of Jacksonville, FL passed away September 11, 2016. He was born on November 5, 1932 in Rutherford, Tennessee to the late John George and Lottie Ellen (Johnston) McKenzie. He came to the area in 1998 from Memphis, TN and was of the Christian faith. Mr. McKenzie proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a third generation brick mason for 53 years and a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Mr. McKenzie is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn McKenzie. He is survived by his children, Edward S. McKenzie of Jacksonville, FL, Eric T. McKenzie (Laura) of Memphis, TN, Leah McKenzie of Jacksonville, FL and grandchildren, Tristan and Chase McKenzie. A committal service with military honors will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with John and Linda Crockford officiating. The family requests that all memorial tributes and flowers be sent to Mr. McKenzie's home at 8116 Maple Street, Jacksonville, FL 32244.
