"Gone Fishin'"William “Bill” L. Nelson, Sr., 73, of Keystone Heights, FL, passed away August 11, 2016. He was born on July 16, 1943 in LaGrange, GA to parents James and Evelyn (Cook) Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a Vietnam Veteran, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy after 22 years of service to his country. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Elvin Lee Cook. Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Nelson; sons, William Lawrence Nelson, Jr. (Jannetta) and James Andrew Nelson, all of Texas; daughters, Christine Anne Mick (Randall) of Texas and Jennifer Loraine Nelson of Keystone Heights, FL; brother, John Howard Nelson (Laverne) of Georgia; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Inurnment at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:30am.
