Floyd M. Shiver, was born May 18th, 1939 in Mitchell Co. Ga, he departed this world to be with the Lord on March 9th of this year, at 1:25 PM. Floyd is survived by the mother of his children, Carole A. Shiver. His sons, Greg Shiver, Mark Shiver, and Floyd Shiver Jr.; Daughters, Cheryl Lewis, and Jennifer Shiver. Grandchildren, Marie Shiver, Valerie Hershberger, Scott Shiver, Bart Hutchins Shiver, Shannon Shiver, Sarah Brown, Kayla Shiver,Jessi Lewis, Jaque Sweat, and Andrea Shiver, and numerous great grandchildren. Floyd was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from 1956-1959, as a wood-worker and cabinet-maker at an Air Force base in Reykjavic, Iceland. After leaving the Air Force, Floyd continued a career in building & construction. He was a Master Craftsman in custom homes and cabinetry. His final years were spent making fine Cypress Furniture. He loved his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2016 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Mount Zion Cemetery in Camilla, GA under the direction of Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. (229) 336-5111.
