Allen Careas Oliva, 67, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away at his residence on May 1, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 27, 1948 in San Francisco, CA to parents Simplicio Careas Oliva and Edith G. (Evans) Oliva. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. He earned The Silver Star with Valor, Bronze Star with Valor, Purple Heart (3 times awarded), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He also graduated from the Airborne Ranger School and the Special Forces and Special Warfare School. A committal service with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 11, 2015 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
