Cecil Lee Coon, Jr., 76, passed away December 28, 2012 at his home in St. Augustine, FL. He was born on February 23, 1936 in Detroit, MI. Mr. Coon worked for The Budd Company in Detroit, MI as Human Resources Manager for many years until retirement. Cecil is survived by his best friend Jerry Vandeford, brother David (Maryann) Coon, sisters, Judith (Ron) Foley, Cheryle Newman and Special friends Robert and Susan Horvath, plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends in Wolf Mountain, NC, Atlanta, GA and Magnolia Point. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with military honors. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecil’s name to Safe Animal Shelter-Middleburg, FL; a 501c3 animal rescue organization of your choice or the Elks Lodge #1892, Green Cove Springs, FL designated to “National Wreaths Across America” program, Jacksonville National Cemetery.
