Tommy Don Smith, 68, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012. He was born on March 3, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to parents James and Billie Smith. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, having retired from the United States Navy in Aviation Ordnance. He had lived in the local area since 1973, moving here from Lexington Park, MD and was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR and other types of racing. He was preceded in death by his father, James Smith and by his son, Christopher Keith Smith and is survived by his mother, Billie Smith of Lawrenceville, GA; wife, Jacquetta Smith; sons, Gregory Scott Smith of Green Cove Springs, FL, Steven Eric Smith of Orange Park, FL and Kenneth Shane Smith of Middleburg, FL; brothers, Jimmy A. Smith of Parker, FL and Bobby A. Smith of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Rosa Probst of Powell, OH and Pamela Krudzlo of Mt. Pleasant, SC and four grandchildren. Following cremation, his remains will be inurned with full military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
