Joanie Smith Wahl, 63, passed away February 23, 2011. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky to Felix and Edith Darnall Smith. She was a resident of Orange Park moving to the area in 1974 from Ohio. Joanie was a very active member of Orange Park United Methodist Church and was a wonderful prayer warrior. She was a vibrant and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved life and enjoyed spending it with her family and friends. Joanie was a medical assistant and had worked for Dr. Kathi Aultman in Orange Park for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Wahl; son, Matthew James Weiss; daughters, Rachel (David) Burch, Jennifer (Steve) Gerush and Tiffany (Alan) Martin; brother, Mickey (Jacqueline) Smith; sister, Jane Whitlam; grandchildren, Brookelyn, Jenna, Jocelyn and Ava and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Joanie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2051 Park Ave. Orange Park, FL 32073.
